Default belt diagram for bypassing ac pulley

I have a 2001 sel 3.0 duratec 24v taurus with a seized ac pulley. I am wondering how I should route a smaller belt that bypasses the ac pulley.

As far as I know, you cannot bypass the AC pulley on 2000+ Duratec's.

You cant just bypass the pulley with a shorter belt...... look carefuly at the belt routing and you will see why. Someone may make a "AC delete kit" that locates an idler pulley and bracket in place of the compressor.

I believe there are kits like that in the market, at least for certain years.

i put one of those kits on my 97lx it did not come with new shorter mounting bolts though, but they were cheap. if you intend to use your a/c again in the near future, take your time removing the old pump and lines and make sure there is no interference with fans and s-belt i got impatient and cut mine out..... mistaaaaaaake
