Ok, we just noticed this on my wife's '01 SEL...

Sometimes when you turn the switch off and remove the key, the windows and sunroof will still open and close. I have tried wiggling the switch to see if maybe the cylinder was worn out, but it makes no difference. And it's intermittant, about once in every 3 times.

I wondered at first if maybe it was a hidden saftey thing, but probably not LOL.

Any Ideas?

I believe that the car is supposed to do this for a short amount of time (30 sec- 1 min) after the car is turned off or until a door is opened. If it's doing it with the door open or after a minute, then it's a bigger issue.....

gen 3s have it for 30seconds to a minute until a door is opened and the gen 4s have it until a door is open (i lost patience after about 10 mins...)

actually if you do it after dark the switches will stay illuminated also

The Gen 4 is 20 Minutes, The Battery Saver kicks in and shuts down the circuit.

Kinda cool, I'm gonna have my radio hooked up to do that !
