I have a 2001 Taurus SEl. The low coolant light comes on and off for no real reason. The coolant level is fine, I am guessing the sensor is bad.Where is the low coolant sensor located? Is it the sane as the temp sensor? Thanks.

They're not the same sensors. The level sensor is on the bottom of the reservoir jug. It is actually integrated into it, so it's not replaceable without a new reservoir. I'd just unplug it.

when you replace it, would you mind posting a picture of this level sensor?

I have a 2001 SES Vulcan bull and my reservoirs have never had sensors in them. Nor do I see any hook up in the engine bay (passenger side) where one would attach to.

The plug is on the bottom of the tank.

Is it the same with the '93 SHO? I noticed a cap on top of the reservoir with wires going into it...?

No the pre '96 Tauruses have a completely different tank. The older ones just need to be kept 1/2 full or so.
