Thumbs up

Where in the cabin is the intake for the recirculated air (Max A/C)?

On the 2003 the service manual says its above the heater core at the base of the windshield.

So it's sucking air in through the defrost vents?

No it is not sucking from the defrosters but from under the dash.

What's the issue?

Nothing's wrong. I just wanted to know where it's sucking in air because my friend likes to wear flip-flops and I didn't want it to suck in any feet odors on longer trips with Max A/C on.

Make the friend sit in the back seat? Place him in the trunk?

Something about this thread is making me laugh ....

I know on my other car, there is a button for recirculated air and non-recirculated air w/ or w/o the A/C on. The Taurus does not have this, so is that what the MAX A/C setting does automatically?

Keeping it simple...

09 VW Tiguan SEL 2.0 (Turbo / 4-Motion)
97 Taurus GL 4dr 3.0L (Vulcan)
02 Volvo S-60T 4dr 2.4L (Turbo) ~SOLD~

86 F-250 5.8L (351 HO 4X4) ~SOLD~

Yes. Max A/C recirculates the air, Regular A/C (Or Auto on the EATC) uses non-recirculated air

Yeah my Aunt's Pt cruiser has a separate button for recirculated air too. It would come in handy driving through tacoma.
