Does anybody have an idea of what a dealership would charge to hook my SHO up to one of their fancy diagnostic machines?

A code reader won't cut it - I'm thinking I need some data logging and more specific sensor info to chase down a problem.

$85 usually. It depends on how much the shop charges for an hour's labor.

Ford Lincoln Mercury Sable? A personal conveyance named after its inventor, an
assassinated ruler, a character from Greco-Roman myth and a small furry mammal.

I though running a diagnostic mean just pulling the codes? What else do they do?

I agree with Qwertz. In my area it's $85-120. Usually they charge it as 1 hour labor.

The more expensive equipment that Ford has will show pending codes, which will not trigger an SES light, and therefore not set a hard code to read with a normal scanner.
