I checked the search function here and it didn't pull up anything. Where is it located on a 2000 Ford Taurus. I bought a Jet Chip from Bmanice and need to replace the chip. The booklet didn't say much and my Haynes doesn't have ECM even listed in the index. Thanks.

Also it took almost a month to get it from him. Where would have been the appropriate place to have left feedback if I would have gotten ripped off? I didn't get any returned email or messages once he got my money. I checked the feedback section but it states to leave feedback once the transaction is complete, but What would I have done if I never received the item? I tried to leave a message there but I guess it has to be reviewed? Needless to say it was never posted for some strange reason.

you need to access it from the engine bay. I would grab a haynes manual...i have one for each car and it usually provides quick answeres!

what you have to do is drop down the glove box completely. which means open it up, take all contents out. on each side closer to the back are 2 rubber cylinders. push those in, and pull the glove box out.. now ur looking at a big mess of black, which is all the heater control stuff. but back there should also be ur computer.

and u stated in the other message that ford told you it was under the hood. thats where the other plug end is. im not sure which side urs plugs into , but thats going to be right on the firewall between ur heater core and the strut tower. about 3/4 of the way up.

It's on the firewall on the passenger side behind a rubber plate held on by two studs.

Thanks SHOZ, thats exactly what it looks like. I was under the glove box looking around and nothing there.

Brad funny thing is I have a Ford Taurus & Mercury Sable 1996-2005 Haynes manual and don't see anything relating to the ECM location, replacement, or removal for my Taurus.
