I have a check engine light that lights up my 1999 Taurus (3.0 vulcan) and my OBDII code reader report the oxygen sensor is faulty. Bank 1, sensor 2 needs replacing. Where is it? I believe there are 4-- O2 sensors on this car and I see right one at the front of the car, as you look down into the engine compartment; this one is attached to the exhaust right after the manifold but I'm not sure if this is the one to replace.

The second sensor is located after the catalytic converter. There is one before the converter, which is the one you saw. The other one is underneath the car.

Bank 1 is the cylinder bank near the firewall, Bank 2 is near the radiator. Sensor 1 is before the cat, sensor 2 is after the cat.

underneath the car, look for the exhaust down pipe from bank 1. You should see the catalytic converter before the area where the two downpipes Y into one pipe. There is one cat on each down pipe. Bank 1 Sensor 2 will be located on the engine's rear down pipe after the cat.
