I just bought a set of spark plugs and plan to do a plug change for my 98 Taurus SE. From the forum, I learned that the gap should be set to 0.054. However, under the car hood, it states gap to be 0.044 to 0.046. Which number exactly should I use?
Also, the motocraft plugs I bought has preset the gap to be 0.052. Shoud I adjust it and also I'd like to know how?

Thank you. I am waiting for you feedback and will start my job right away.

dang i really need to put this all in one post now. oaky i used a .51 spark plug rating, but a .52-.54 is good for your car, also you have to go to autozone and buy a sparkplus spacer, usually on the counter of the store. like 2$ for it . sorry bout the million posts

Thanks for the input. Why under the hood it said the gap is 0.042 to 0.046? Is 0.052 I have good to put in?

not sure but my spark plugs were programmed for the duratec when i got them, mayber you got the same thing, u just need to get the spacer and respace the plugs right in between the settings.
