PM box size limit reduced?

Logged in today and noticed my PM box was completely full. It seems the PM limit has been reduced to only 100 messages. I believe the limit was much higher before (something like 5000 messages). What happened?

These messages are text, so they hardly take up any space at all. I believe the limit should be at least 250 messages.

Should I also look forward to having my attachment space shrunk down to a minuscule share of MBs (or even KBs)?

Yeah I just saw that too when I logged in. Alot got deleted because of that.

Attachements are the same size, don't worry about them getting smaller - that space has NOT changed.

The limit was SUPPOSED to be set at 250 for free users who have been members for a year or longer. This was the administrators call. Tomorrow morning I will make sure that you are limited to 250 and NOT 100 like it has been since you have been a member for more than a year. The point of the shrink is to encourage subscription purchase.

It was originally a 20,000 PM limit. I apologize for any issue! Please note that on the original page when you signed up it said you were limited to 50 PM's, but that limit was not put in place.

Please correct it to the 250, then. Mine says 100% full at 122 messages. I don't plan to use 20,000 but a bit of warning would have been nice before dropping to 100. I'm not exactly new around here, either.

You are right, Phil just did it and was like "okay, I did it" and I was like "oh... I didn't actually expect you to do it that fast!"

So He will correct it tomorrow morning. I'm so sorry it's not working like it was planned.

Keep in mind if you have the means, donating to the site by purchasing a premium subscription will raise your limit to either 2500 or 5000. Also winning car of the month will raise your limit to 2500!

Yes, I think you posted your announcement of it sometime a few minutes after I started this topic. So I'm sorry I didn't see it before I posted.

250 should be okay if they can get that straightened out.

That is my fault, I should have posted it BEFORE he did it, but I didn't even realize he was going to do it today!

250 will be set tomorrow morning as soon as I can get phil to check his PM's. I usually have direct contact with him pretty quickly. I'll shoot him an email now though and he'll change it as soon as he gets in the office tomorrow - unless he's available at home, which I doubt, but is possible.

Again, we are working on getting the issue fixed.

You should see your limit move up to 250 sometime tomorrow.

Again we are very sorry for the issue! It was a mess up on permissions and usergroups, and I don't have the power to change it. Must wait for Phil to get back in the office tomorrow.
