Squeak could also be from the tensioner pulley, a bad bearing in the alternator, AC
clutch bearing, etc. I would pick up a mechanics stethoscope from HF for under $5 and hunt for the source of the squeak.
Replacing the belt on a Vulcan is a 5 minute job.
