I have a 2002 taurus Vulcan engine so I was driving my usual driving and my check engine light started flashing for about a min than went off. Car was driving fine didnt felt nothing going on. Continue to drive and the light hasn't came on should I worry or take it in.
Yes, I would have it looked at. Flashing CEL means a severe misfire was detected that was bad enough to damage the catalytic convertors. If it flashes again take it real easy or pull over immediately.
Driving with a flashing CEL will quickly cause severe and EXPENSIVE to the cat converters. There will be a DTC (trouble code) stored in the PCM. Swing by a parts store and have them read the codes for free and report back with the code number or numbers.
Autolite Pro (Advance Auto) and Borg-Warner (O'Reilly) are good wire sets too.
