I know I havent been on here in awhile. But I would like for you all to see what I've been up to lately. Like most of you, I am Addicted to anything Taurus. So in respect to the Bull and my my Favorite Christmas time movie, I proudly present to you my rendition of the Griswold Christmas Vacation Wagon... Enjoy!!!
Started out as a $150 1991 Taurus GL wagon 3.0 Vulcan Bought it from the original owner who used it as a delivery vehicle for a local Snack food company. Car has 318k documented mls... You heard right. Trans was rebuilt at 200k and has been serviced every 30k since. 2 water pumps, a steering pump, brake master cylinder, multiple brake jobs, and a Fuel pump. All that along with normal maint items; Tires, Brakes, hoses... Besides that, the car is all original! A true testiment to the 3.0 Vulcan! I feel like this car would take me across country without a problem. The only thing that doesnt currently work now, is the A/C. The untouched 3.0 vulcan still has plenty of power, and only uses a quart of oil every 3k miles. Tune-ups were done at 114k, 230k, and 310k. And Oil changes at 5k. Also the suspension is pretty much shot ofcourse. Car was headed for the scrap yard, but I convinced the owner to let me buy it. Couldn't stand to see a perfectly good Bull get scrapped. So, a good buffing, shampooing, and battery, and she's road ready! PS> The bull was taken out of service in 06... The snack company let her have the car when she retired. Car has been sitting in her garage since May of 2010. Now for the FUN! This is a pic right after I installed the wood paneling, It's actually just drawer liner contact paper... Shhh. haha! I've already had it in 3 Parades, 2 in which I've won 1st place! Let me know what you think! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Man that's awesome! Too bad you just missed entering in COTM because this is like perfect COTM (and maybe even COTY) material!
Did you do anything to make the rear sag or are the springs just that worn out?

Sure! Do what you want! I've just Loved seeing the kids faces light up when they see the car. Even thought more of the older generations get it more than the young ones. I've just been driving it around my town, gettin thumbs up everywhere I go. It's currently being showcased at the local Ford dealership. Apparently it's been getting lots of publicity there. Everyone is wanting there picture made with it.

I definitely worked hard to get it as close as I could to the movie car. And as far as the rear sagging, I did put a few paver stones in the rear to weight it down. Even though the tree would have probably been enough.

"We're kicking off our fun old fashion family Christmas by heading out into the country in the old front-wheel drive sleigh to embrace the frosty majesty of the winter landscape and select that most important of Christmas symbols."

Well I'll specially enter you into COTY. Usually it's supposed to be just the 12 COTM winners for the year, but since we only have like 5 for this year I have plenty of open spots!
