My daughter and grandson came over for breakfast and a visit this morning (probably in that order, too, but that's OK) and they arrived to see me under the front end of my Taurus scoping out what I need to do to replace the front bumper cover. (Thanks again Nick!) She remarked that I have owned that car for more than half her life now. She's 29 and was 14 when we bought it in December 1997. That got me to wondering...
Any other long-term owners out there? How long have YOU owned your current or former ride? Last edited by Lgbpop; 11-10-2012 at 09:22 AM. |

I personally haven't owned my car this long, but my Grandma got it new in 97, and would take me to summer camp it in, then Dad bought it from her, then gave it to me....
So basically since 1997, and I'm only 22!

My parents bought the '86 wagon back in 1993, back then it had almost 30,000mi for about 3K. I bought it from my mom for a hundred bucks in 1998. To this day I still have it and drive it almost daily. Now has over 160K on the odo.

We traded in our red 1999 SE Vulcan for my current Taurus in May 2006. Was passed onto me in June of 2010.
Wouldn't want any other car!

Bought my 2000 in 2009, and my 1995 just earlier this year. [I can't believe it's been that long!]
Feel like I've known my 2000 my whole life though.
