My story is similar to Seans. My grandpa bought my 2000 new, loaned it to my dad in 09, then sold it to me as of January next year. So technically loaning it to me right now.

I've had four since 1995 or so:

1995-2000: 1991 L wagon
2000-2003: 2000 LX Sedan
2004-2007: 2004 LX Sedan
2006-present: 1991 LX Sedan

Current 1991 sedan probably won't be with us much longer. Transmission is starting to act up, clearcoat is flying off and the trip computer does weird things.

April 2011. So over a year and a half. Runs better than when I bought it, and it ran well when I bought it so... go me.

It's leaking progressively more oil though, and I fear the worst. But if I get 2 years out of her, I'll be happy for the $1800 I dropped.

my first Taurus was a 97. I owned it for five years. the current one is an 2005 bought in 2006 so 5 years now. 115,000 mles still going strong.
