I started it and let it run for a while since I haven't driven it much lately. At least no squealing belt to annoy the neighbors anymore!

Changed the idler pulley, AGAIN, got a different brand this time. Put a brand new dayco belt on the car, and poured in a bottle of that lucas fuel system cleaner that was on sale at the auto parts store, then filled up at shell. No more squealing pulley, and maybe ill clean out my engine a little bit.

Not much with mine.
Did put some tires on a Gen IV.5 the other day with *drumroll please*....... 340,000 miles on it! It was pretty beat though. |

Im serious! the first owner was an old lady who kept all service records, and there was regular flushes and filter changes. If it has another tranny then it has no evidence of ever being changed.

It does eventually find it, and it hasn't gotten any worse, so I've classified it as a "minor issue" since the only repair is a very costly transmission rebuild according to this site. I figure I may as well wait until it finally loses reverse completely or starts messing up the other gears before I commit to that kind of expense. |
