Angry

Well my car has reached new heights of leakage!

The heat stopped working reliably over the past few months. Some days I will get heat and other days I'll get nothing.

There is a correlation, though. If the heat isn't working, the heater core isn't leaking.

I will say this, when the heat works the coolant comes in the cabin through the vents or sometimes ends up on the floor. This masks the odors coming from all of the other leaking stuff and the brake cleaner / WD40 / PB blaster I use monthly when all of the doors stop working! For instance, this morning on my way to work the heat wasn't working but I could smell the wonderful smell of power steering fluid ... the power steering pump had another fit where it expelled all of the fluid into the engine compartment and then burns off of the header for a while! I had to maneuver my car on the muddy / frozen mud lawn onto the driveway with no power steering this morning.

So, on my way home today I'll have to pick up some PS fluid along with the coolant.

For the past week or so - bar today - the heat has been working great! I decided to check the coolant this morning (hadn't done so in a week) and the reserve tank was bone dry. So, over the past 7 days I've leaked about a gallon of coolant!

So who thinks this can be fixed with some of the handy man's secret weapon?

Yay Ford Taurus

Yay YOUR Ford Taurus. Mine has way more miles, and doesnt have near the problems that your car has.

Get rid of the car if it is that big of a sh!t heap, FIX it, or maybe run it in a LeMons race. You can be the RRRR part II. Rickety Red Rustbucket Revolucion!

There's no fixing such a rusty vehicle. If I were to try to fix the heater core, I'd have 5 other things break off from the rust. Then the next day, the strut towers would go through the deck lid.

Oh, and today the door wouldn't shut and I broke the seatbelt.

Can I drive this hunk o junk POS into a tree yet?

Thank you for your protection and your many signs along the way. Thank you for any good that I may have done, I'm so sorry about the bad. Thank you for the friend I made. Please watch over her as you watched over me. Thank you for finally allowing me to rest. I'm so very tired, but I go now to my rest at peace. I fought the good fight, I finished the race, I kept the faith.

Yes. About a year too late, apparently.

Better yet, push it off of a Ferry boat. Once it sinks, it will be a new habitat for marine wildlife and coral. DOOOO IT.
