Hey everyone,

I just noticed that you get redirected to www.fordparts.com now.

I've just started using it and so far it seems to be far better than the old motorcraft site.

Just an FYI.

thanks.

I checked out the site. It says my VIN is invalid, but I typed it in just as it is on the car. ???

Without entering the VIN, you pull up a lot of parts for every 3.0L and there is no way to know which part is for my engine. For example, try searching for an EGR valve for a 1997 Ford Taurus and see how many results you get, all with different prices.

They need to have a way to enter which motor you have in your car or a better database for the VIN numbers.

Update: Live chat is a PLUS. I just chatted with James who said the site will not take any VIN over ten years old.

I noticed the new site too! I kinda have mixed feelings about it, not sure if I like the old Motorcraft site better.

Hi guys,

Yes - I noticed some discrepancies when I search on parts for my '04 Flex Vulcan.

But overall it seems to be a huge improvement over the motorcraft site and faster.

I hope they work out all of the bugs and such. It still pays to cross reference parts with other sites - for now anyway.

Thanks.

For anyone who wants a site that actually works, the old catalog is still on-line (for now): http://www.motorcraft.com/catalog.do

So, is this a beta that's going to be improved over time? I tried it last night; agreed that there are bugs from it being a brand new system. I like it, though.

I found this article on the new website:

http://www.partsandpeople.com/Nation...cles/view/4958

I also found several other Ford type forums refering to this website as early as 2002, so I don't know if its new or what????

I do know that last week I was going to motorcraft.com and recently I get redirected to this new fordparts. com site.

I hope it improves as well - I like the format.

I will never buy anything with the pricing that they have - but I do like to confirm what the part numbers are for my vehicle model.

thanks.
