Creaking front suspension?

Hey everyone.

I have a 2011 Taurus. I've just noticed that the front suspension seems to be "creaking". The weird part is I ONLY notice it on speed bumps or traffic humps. When I go over them at slow-moderate speed (the speed you'd normally take a speed bump or hump at) the whole front end seems to make what I'd describe as a creak or scraping noise as the suspension travels. It MIGHT be coming more from the driver side but it is hard to tell. I don't really notice it on any other roads.

It is pretty cold here right now (14F). I thought that maybe there was ice built up under there somewhere that was causing it but I knocked everything loose that was around the wheels and it still makes the noise.

Any idea what could be causing this? Hopefully it will warm up and I can see if that helps it. I don't remember ever noticing it before the temperature dipped down.

Something needs to be greased. Check the strut boots. Could be ball joints.

The bushings between the subframe and body Squeak with age. Have a front end shop check them. Uni body sits on subframe at bushing. That will be 2 cents please!!

I noticed this as well on my 2011 SEL. I have experienced this with older vehicles (7+ years) - as the bushings get old they tend to squeak and even more so in the cold. I used to just give all the bushings a shot of silicon lub which would fix it for about a year, but I am surprised that my 2 year old taurus is doing this.
Makes me wonder what other parts Ford cheaped out on.

My new 13 SEL began making thumps and rattles after having it 2 months. Speed bumps, entrances to driveways, tight turns all caused the noises, but they were intermittent and did not happen every time. I intentionally waited until the noises were mostly reliable before taking it in. First trip to the dealer resulted in "sorry, but we couldn't hear anything but normal suspension noise". Seriously? This car is so quiet that you can hear the slightest of noises, but I've never had a car make any noise in the suspension other than the swish of oil through the shocks.
Fortunately for me, the left front strut oil seals began to leak and evidence was now on the inside of the front rim, and the noises increased to all the time. Second trip to a different dealer was met with "your left front strut needs to be replaced- I've ordered the part and we'll replace it next week".
Done. I'm not crazy, and now it makes no noise at all. My first thoughts were sway bar bushings because of occasional "thumps", but it was the strut.
