My key&remote start issue - Taurus Car Club of America : Ford Taurus Forum

I just got my 2012 Taurus Limited a few weeks ago.I had the dealer install the Ford remote start system.It works ok but when you open the door it shuts off the engine.I have heard there is a way to reprogram the system so the engine will keep running when you open the door.Anyone have any info on how to do this?Thanks for info or comments on this.

I just posted a DIY for this.
Word of caution, make sure all keys are set to ADMIN BEFORE re-programming!

Thanks,good info.I do have the push button start so i think i'll try to find out from the dealer if it will work on my car.

Oh ok, it would be good to know if it does work.
I heard the dealer might not want to tell you if it will work or not, but hopefully they do.
They might ask you to sign some sort of waiver for disabling the MyKey due to safety issues.
