Future plans

Shot of the Taurus at National Air & Space Museum Dulles. The rising art in the background is called "Ascent"

Tires are soon to be replaced and I'm leaning toward going down to 18s (I love the fat tire look) Painted calipers, drilled rotors, and dark tint for the chrome trim are also planned.

I'd also like to upgrade the MyFordTouch to Nav (the module swap looks pretty easy)

Hey, why don't you go for caliper covers? I have tried caliper paint in the past (I never found one that actually didn't chip or flake)

My personal opinion would be that bigger rims would really make that SHO pop

Just the SHO grille

I have considered the 20s but the thicker sidewall rides better on those long trips.

I'm leaning toward these...

XXR 526 Black Chrome

Nice rims they will look sweet. I currently use my OEM as winter rims and I have some 20" Black mat rims for my summers. I do like the bonnet (Hood) scoop.

Im personally not a fan of the rims with the big lips, too many dealerships in my area put those kind of rims on their cars as a selling point. You like it though and that's all that matters. Personally I like the smaller side wall, I want to upgrade to set of 20's eventually but that costs money ha. For now the factory chrome 19's are my year round

I think its really interesting how trends change over time. When I was in my 20s everybody wanted deep dish wheels, the deeper the better, and they had to be chrome. If somebody had flat black wheels it was because they couldnt afford anything else, or they were steel race rims with screws holding the beads in place.

Today, there are more black wheels than any other choice and most consider chrome "too much bling"
Shucks, even I shy away from a full chrome wheels myself. I always knew most wheels with spokes all the way out or a flat-faced wheel were due to high offsets that came with FWD, but that becoming the preference was a surprise to me. Low profile tires born from racing look great in many applications, but even I was amazed to find that just in the XXR wheel I'm looking at, the 20in wheel weigh 4lbs more than the 18in!
BUT, these are all the things that make the automotive world so cool. The ability for self-expression is just about wide open, and the range of taste is as varied as the vehicles themselves...and thats what makes it fun for everyone!
I've seen plenty of custom machines that werent my cup of tea, but many were so beautifully crafted you simply had to respect the time and effort they invested. I think thats why I havent gotten tired or bored with cars in over fifty years.
Take that underbody lighting on your ride. The first time I saw that was at a show, and thought it was just a show-floor thing for effect. Then I saw a tuner ride on the highway one night, and while the lighting looked strange at first, like some kind of space-hovercraft, I had to admit it looked slick. I dont think I'd want it on my ride, but it still worked on that low-riding tuner. Who knows, I may warm up and decide it would be a neat touch on mine someday! LOL

While it's not my taste, Bruiser's vehicle is one of the more fun and adventurous Taurii on the forum.

It doesn't try to be something it's not, but it does push the envelopes of the car's conservative nature to the edge without breaking it. It's a good execution of something outside of the box.

Just my 2 cents, or about half a cent with inflation.
