Mustang wheels on taurus

I've noticed quite a few sets of mustang wheels pop up on my local CL feed relatively cheap with tires.

Only starting to research the fitament, but anyone else ever look into this?

I dislike a lot of aftermarket wheels, so I tend to look to oem.

I know this is an "old" thread....but I don't believe you can use RWD wheels on a FWD car...but I could be wrong.

You can use a RWD wheel on a FWD car as long as the offset is close enough to spec to avoid interference issues. Many of the newer RWD cars use a higher positive offset.

I believe the Taurus wheel is +40mm. A lower positive offset pushes the tire/wheel combination further outboard from the axle hub centerline so you can play with wheel width/offset combinations to find the ideal fitment.

Best advice is don't spend the money until you have ensured the fit!

The Taurus and Mustang share the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern and the 2005-up Mustangs also use a high-offset wheel. The XXR wheels on mine are 19x8.5 +35 offset, and you should be able to go up to 9in wide with no rubbing issues. Offset anywhere between +34 to +45 should be good on the Taurus. Just be careful some of the Stang wheels in deep dish are in the +24 range making them a no-go.

I have 17x8, +34 Mustang Bullitts on my FWD Chrysler convertible with no problems at all.

I did test fit some of my spare wheels a while back. The 17's do clear, although I didn't measure the hub to see if a spacer would be needed.

Tire size is incorrect, but you get the idea. I never followed through with this as I ended up purchasing new wheels for my Mustang instead, and decided to try these as potential snow tires. Never followed through though due to only a handful of storms this winter

Yeah man, a set of those in 18 or 20 would look right on time!
