Steering knuckle same on 1996 thru 1999?

I (might) need a steering knuckle (front driver) for my 1999 Taurus (250,000 miles). New ones are pricey, so looked on Ebay for a used one. Found a 96 97 98 (front driver) steering knuckle. Cheap. And I really don't care how it looks, so long as it works.

All the new knuckles (MEF143) specify 96-99 -- so I figured this one would fit my 99, but the seller left out 99 in his description, and I'm guessing a seller wouldn't do that unless he knew it wouldn't fit a 99.

So, my question: if it's a 96 96 98 steering knuckle, is it a fit for my 99? Or maybe not?

Edit: I found a lot of Ebay steering knuckles for 1999 only, to choose from. (I'm new to Ebay, my search skills are lacking). Obviously, something on the knuckle changed going from 98 to 99. Wish I had discovered this before asking this question. Which makes this a silly question -- feel free to delete it -- I haven't found a way to do it myself.

Thanks for the info -- very good to know. Weird, frankly, given how careful the Ebay sellers are not to sell to 99 knuckle as a 94-07 knuckle. Perhaps they just don't know.

I'll have this car for a long time, so since you know these things -- did you mean all 4 knuckles are the same from 94 to 07? I mean front and rear?

I have a (somewhat) bad wheel bearing and a cv axle jammed in that hub assembly (why jammed, is a story too awkward to tell). If I can get it out, I'm good.

If the cv axle stays in the hub assembly (I can't be paying someone to help me on this, so if I can't get it out, it stays), I could remove the hub assembly, but the cv axle seems too large to follow the hub assembly through that hole in the steering knuckle. Hard to prove either way for sure. Perhaps someone knows.

If the cv axle won't follow the hub assembly out of the hole, I need to throw all of it away, and buy a new knuckle (used is fine, new is too pricey), hub assembly (new), and cv axle (new).

The car can be driven as it is (wheel wobbles a bit), and I'm on limited funds, so before I disable the car taking it apart, I need to make sure I have a plan and the necessary cash to get it back together.
