There are no less than 8 types of Taurus GEN IV Wagon Springs according to fordparts.com (see list below)!!

Not only that, but the prices differ from $89.70 (code-F) to $194.63 (code-D) and that's EACH!

Does anyone have information as to the real differences? Mine appeared to be the Cargo Coil design (smaller windings on the ends), but they were tired, so I recently swapped them to MOOG CC879's.

I will get the tag codes off the original OEM springs I just pulled and post them soon.

On my old '00 sable wagon I just put a set of air bags in the rear springs to correct the sag. Put over 100k miles on them and sold the car with them in still functioning OK. Air bags were cheaper than one spring at the time.
