I was just wanting to know if anyone has tried or heard of these. Rating of FF.
Buy Wearever Platinum Premium Ceramic Brake Pads PNAD598 at Advance Auto Parts cost seems right. If not i'll go with the gold version |

I work at Advance. Golds are decent and from what customers tell me, they hold up well. They are basically the OE spec comparable pad.
The Platinums are a step up and compare to the Wagner Thermoquiet. Heard really great things about them as well..and they come with hardware too which is a plus.

That's what i was thinking. OEM pads never worked well and cost to much, more than those actually and much to... lacking in feedback. If they are better than i will get those. If it a coin toss than its golds

Really it is up to you and it depends what you're looking for. A basic mid grade OE spec pad change.. yes just get golds. The Golds are by no means a bad pad, but they are definitely more economical than the platinum line. Silvers are ok but are the entry level.. so stay away from those. There is no question though the platinums are better as they are the best of the wearever line, which I have yet to try for myself. But they are built differently than the golds with the intention of keeping noise down.
However, I have found that getting the platinums is an easy choice for those looking to get new hardware too.. The Cost of Gold Pads + a Separate hardware kit usually is very close to a box of platinums that come with it.

Give the Duralast C-Max a try. As much as I don't like autozone, it is the best pads for the money, and their top-tier.

What do you mean a hardware kit?
I have the Gold ceramic pads on my 2000. They seem to work fine. They slid into the caliper and caliper bracket with ease as-is.

I believe AAP's Platinums are a brand new line, so there is no enough feedback on it yet. I wonder, are they a re-branded brake pad of some other manufacturer?
At my local AAP, they also had in stock Wagner Thermoquiet brake pad part number for my car. When I looked at it, it said "FG" rating. I have never seen an FG rated brake pad, so I decided I gotta have it. I had them on for just a couple of weeks so far so good. The first few miles the the bite was weak but then I guess they got bedded in. Good stopping power, good pedal feel, no noise, very little dust. |

Don't forget your Advance Auto coupon code. I order stuff from them online and pick it up on the way home. Coupons range from 10% to 30% or better.

Advance Auto online is the way I buy most of my auto parts lately, and have all new gold pads and rotors in the basement for my daily car, I don't even need yet. To good a deal, as not only 20% off that way, they were sending me credits up to $50 off my next purchase, and not one to let that go to waste. As mentioned, pick up at your local store later.
