SYNC "SAT FAULT"

09 Taurus Limited. Trying to get XM/Sirius hooked up on this thing and I'm getting a "Sat Fault" message when I hit the aux button. Went online to the ford website and it says there is a (dealership) software update available...the stealership wants $50 to do said update. Is there anyway I can do this update myself? Is the update even going to fix my issue?

What are you using to hook up the XM?

You mentioned the aux. Never done this myself, but I have had issues with the aux setting not reading things right. Usually (for me), it is any issue with cords.

If your setup is wireless, try turning on the car and waiting a while. Sometimes if you try and do anything with the aux setting immediately after turning the car on, things can go wrong.

Sorry if this isn't helpful, but I saw there were no answers, so I wanted to at least try and help you troubleshoot.
