Before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm not trying to blind people or preform illegal lighting mods. It seems like my "low beams" still aren't low enough to give me a good view of the lines in compromised visibility situations. I was thinking of adding some lights aimed very low to help light up the pavement. Has anyone actually noticed improvements from doing this? Any ideas for improving lighting are welcome.

Before adding fog lights, may want to check your headlight alignment to be sure it is correct. The standard headlight brightness can be increased by installing Phillips Xtreme Vision bulbs and / or adding relays to power the headlights directly from the battery. (Both at the expense of decreased bulb life).
If you add fog lights, be sure they are aimed properly.

Agree much. Added a pic of one lamp polished, one as is.
I added a relay and it really makes a difference. Life is not an issue for me, I carry a spare bulb and a nut driver so I can change a bulb in a parking lot in 5-10 minutes. But I do not go far from home.
I clean my lenses with Windex and then put high grade car wax on them about once a month. Keeps them clean and they do not yellow.

Also check the lenses of your headlights. Hazy, oxidized headlights don't throw enough light, imho. Replacement lights aren't expensive, look nicer, and throw a lot of light. An easy upgrade for less than $100 (got mine on Ebay.)
I may have to start a second thread for this, but I'll ask here first. Anyone have ideas for how to run wires thru the firewall? I heard there was a grommet inside the drivers wheel well, anyone have experience with this? Pics would be even better
I'd be interested in this as well. I dislike driving my 05 at night, and HATE driving it in the rain and darkness. I even tried going the HID route, but I think I got mixed results due to the stock housing and how it throws the light.
I even bought new housings. When you compare the lighting on my taurus to my 05 chevy colorado (fogs off, stock bulbs) its not even a fair fight.
I installed new lens assemblies (centennial edition) from TYC and a set of regular silver starts, made a huge difference there once they were aimed correctly. Also I installed a 22" light bar in behind the lower grill. I installed the light bar only because of last year I was travelling a lot to another city when my daughter was born and was stuck in the hospital for 2 months. I only use the bar when no cars are visible. If I seen a hint of a tail light or lights coming at me I turn the bar off.
