Hey guys, I just got a keyless entry fob programmed for my 1999 red ford taurus today. I have some small hint of advice if you need to program a new fob. 1. turn the key in the ignition 8 times in 10 seconds. 2. the lock will engage and disengage at the same time. That tells you that the car is in programming mode. 3. Press any button on the new fob and you have a programed fob.

Just bought a 2001 Taurus LX yesterday after crashed my 2005 mustang on Christmas night. kind sad....so when i was trying to set up keyless remote today, after i turned the key on and off eight times and left on position on the eighth time, the car didn't lock and unlock automatically, why was that happened? how can I set up remote due to that?
The LX, being a base model, didn't always come with factory remote entry. It is likely that your car simply isn't equipped with it. I believe it was only an option for fleet cars, but don't hold me to that...
