when i turn on my car right away there is a loud buzzing coming from my subs. the speakers also dont work when this is happening. when i disconnect the power to the amp the subs(obviously) dont hum but the speakers work fine. im going to redo the ground, but im also concerned that the headunit is going out.

you kinda need a delayed head unit turn on. if you up grade it may stop the noise. it may also be the ground induceing noise in to the system. most of the time hu's have a delayed turn on circuit that turns it on after the other stuff turn on and is ready. when it all come on it make noise some times. you could add in a switch to turn it on after the head unit is on and playing.

btw it's the remote you putthe switch in to delay turn on if it work then i mite consider up gradeing or even check the ground.

Move (away from power and remote wire) or get better RCA's.... Make certain your ground point is godd and clean and tight.

Believe it or not it could be your head unit and/or the amplifier has an internal problem if the two above things dont fix it.

I used to have the same problem on my car when I had the stock headunit.. then I realized that its only when the radio is turned off.
You have to ALWAYS keep the radio on, but turn the volume to the lowest possible (alternative to turning it off)
I've also noticed that the problem is much worse in winter because the radio takes time to get power... weird.
Best option, even though it may not be the nicest looking and IMHO ruins the look of the dash, install an aftermarket headunit.
Hope this helps
