I just recently bought an aftermarket LED third brake light and it has turn signal and hazard capabilities. I need to know where is the best spot to tap into the signal wires. Also the brake light has an extra wire dedicated for hazard capabilities but i was thinking that if the hazards are just both signals going at the same time then just hooking them up to the left/right turn signals would work.

I wouldn't recommend using turn signals for the third brake light. It's designed to be a brake light only and if it doesn't function like it's suppose to then you could be denied insurance coverage in an accident. It can also cause your turn signals to flash super fast.

Anyways, on the G2, there is no dedicated turn signal wire in the back. The brake and turn signal are transmitted on the same wire. The brake light wiring goes through the brake on-off switch at the brake pedal to the multi-function switch (turn signal lever) and then goes to the taillight. When you activate the turn signal, the brake light signal from the brake light switch on the brake pedal is interrupted at the MFS and the MFS sends a flashing signal to the light in the back. If you use the wiring in the back, then your third brake light will act just light the stock taillights.

alright well i hooked it up.. and i did end up tapping off of the left and right tail light turn signals. as of right now it works perfect! no hyper flashing or anything. i tapped into the greenish wire with a red stripe on each side. but the only problem i have now is that the signals work only when the brake light is not applied. the brake light overtakes the turn signals. i would really like the turn signals to flash when the brake is applied but i do not know how to do that. any ideas would be nice

It could be a design of the unit itself (which goes back to my statement about the third brake light being a brake light only). The stock programming is that the turn signals override the brake lights.

There is a terminal on the MFS that will allow the turn signals to act as brake lights EXCEPT when the turn signal is used. Then the side the turn signal is on will act like the turn signal.

There's a dedicated turn signal wire going to the front turn signals. Tap into that.
