Well today I was coming back from having the SHOP tips and quasi dual exhaust installed on my Gen III Vulcan and I noticed whenever I use the right turn signal, it blinks extremely fast, but the left turn signal blinks normally. The outside turn signals both flash normally. It is just the dash indicator that blinks really fast.

I don;t know what it casuing it, but I just installed a rear SHO bumper, but don't think that has anything to do with it.

The turn signal bulbs are all fine, what could cause this?

Thanks

Coneynew

^What he said.

There are side markers that blink as well as the front and rear turn signals. Did you check those?

Thanks guys!

It turned out the right rear turn signal bulb is out. I have parking lights all the way around and the brake lights work. I'll change it out tomorrow after work.

Either a bulb or a bad connection in a socket

Yeah , I should have confirmed the turn signal after I installed the SHO bumper this weekend. I checked and confirmed the parking lights, back up lights, brake lights, and side markers worked, but neglected to check the turn signals.

Just a pain to have to remove the trunk trim panel, remove the rear tailight just to replace the darn bulb... Had I caught it when I had everything apart, I'd be much happier ......

It's pretty common that a fast blinker means one of the turn signal lights are out. I forget the total explanation, but one of the lights being out makes for a shorter circuit or something like and the flasher just flashes faster.

In newer cars, the flashing is module controlled, so the faster flashing is actually simulated to act like a flasher would because the GEM can recognize that the bulb is out.
