Since I just finished the keypad install, I noticed the RAP Module has a few extra wires. I'm wondering if anyone has a diagram for it, because I think I can install the full security system (hood pin, etc) that was in the sable. Just need to know what does what.

There's some more unaccounted wires on the connector

Thanks, that covers one of them. Got the sheet to the other connector as well? Somewhere on there the hood pin should connect I'd assume, unless that's a whole different module somewhere.

Hello,

Thank you for posting this info on the RAP. I have a 2000 Sable and am attempting to tie in a horn relay for an autostart. It looks like the horn wire(s) (purple or blue) run down the steering column with the air bag wires. I'd really rather not mess with those because I'm uncertain if they are truly the horn wires or not and don't want to deploy the air bag! Instead, I'd like to use the horn wire from the RAP.

2 questions:

Where is the RAP located? My Chilton manual makes absolutely no reference to it.

Where did you get these wiring diagrams? (If from an digital service manual, where can I purchase/download a copy?)

Thanks!

Its above the accelerator pedal. Big gray or white rectangular box.

The horn is controlled directly by the horn switches in the steering wheel and indirectly from the GEM module. Rap talks to GEM, GEM turns on horn relay.

I don't think G4s had them.

You are correct. They have what is called a Passive Anti Theft Transceiver module. It's located on the wire loom going to the MFS under the steering column shroud. Only data RX and TX terminals and power.
