Default exhaust re-run

i was wonder if anybody has re-run there exhaust from the bolts just past the cats. I was thinking about getting somebody to run me straight pipes from those bolts on. want it to be bolt on though so i can easily swap exhausts, pass emissions and then go bolt the straights back on. also wondering prices for such modification.
also all input on the subject welcome.

Thanks in advance

I'll be the first to say that realistically speaking there are no proven preformance benefits of doing anything with the exhaust. On these cars anyways.

...well, 96-98 Duratec-equipped Taurii had twin exhausts. Not sure how extensively they modified the underbody after they removed it in 99.

from that connector back to just past the tank its a single pipe and there's a Y pipe to split it out, this is all just something im rolling around in my head right now, i got a few maintenance items i have to take care of first but i'm thinking about adding it to my mods list

I swapped 95 SHO exhaust on a 2000 body. It all lines up properly, the styles the used from '89 to '07 are identical underneath the chassis. It just Y's at the rear end.

Cool

The catback will not effect emissions so you you can do it and wont have to worry.

As for having straight pipes it will probably sound like crap with out anything to reduce the rasp.

yea, ill be running catback, a buddy of mine did that to his and i preferred the way that sounded over stock exhaust, i wouldnt run straight on the taurus just because of the poor quality sound, you think finding another taurus and just swapping out res and muffler off of those for pipes a good idea or just having somebody custom run me a new one?
