Okay, so I was playing around in MS Paint (This is a police grille by the way, just happened to be the image I had saved) and wanted to come up with a possible one of a kind grille for my Taurus. I don't mind what I have, but I felt like making it unique would be sweet. This is what I came up with (And I hope it's legible with resizing) and after seeing some of the newer Taurus "spear" grilles, I feel like it's not too far-fetched. Thoughts? I might find a junker Taurus and pull the grill to give it a try. Feel free to give me input/suggestions

What is behind the solid part of the grille you have now? Like is it just the radiator, or are the hoses or what's back there? I wouldn't reduce the size of the grille if it's covering up something unpleasing to the eye lol

You know.. I haven't the slightest idea, haha. I'm certainly going to check now. I'd assume it's radiator though

The design would be good, granted you're not staring at something ugly behind it lol. You could always do mesh painted black or something similar in the gaps if whatever's behind there isn't too pretty.

Or you could ape the G1 Fusion and go all Gillette razor.

It should be just radiator. With a mesh it should cover it anyway. Unlike people who take their mustang grills off for God knows what reason.
I was thinking the same idea, well, along the lines. Just something different from the rest. Though, I've seen a wagon done similarly, and it looks a lot like an import to me. |

If you are having a thin piece support the emblem then it will be very flimsy and wont last long.
I would go similar to the Gen1 police grill.

I do agree, that if your going to cut away and make a larger opening, your "spear" is going to be very fragile. I would possibly try the larger opening with a custom billett or mesh grill with the oval.

Best idea, is cut it all out.
Put in a mesh. Attach spear from different gen.

I think I will! I like the spear such as the one in your Taurus, and it would be waaay easier than fabbing something myself. Now I just have to go find the bits!
