1991GL's Build Thread

I haven't posted in a while. That aside, this is my build thread. The car is a 1991 Ford Taurus GL with a 3.0L V6. The car has 165k miles on it. My Dad bought it back in 92' with 8k miles on it. I learnt how to drive in it and currently use it to go to school.

It's not much of a list. I don't plan on soaking too much money into it. Just stuff to keep it looking and functioning like new.

For those of you who don't dig the stars and stripes, that stuff is going to go because I'll be on to bigger and better things.

Actually now that you mention it, I didn't even realize that these hubcaps had 4 lugs on them lol. When one of them falls off I plan on getting a hubcap which resembles the 'basket weave' alloy of the 1st generation, something like this:



And as far as the color goes, any idea as to what the actual factory color is? I believe it's Amethyst Blue, but I'm not exactly sure. I've seen newer Fords that have a very similar shade of blue to this around where I live.

I like the 58-hole blue oval wheel covers that came on my car, they broke/cracked/went loose over ten years ago. No way I'm paying what the scavengers want for them now. No rush, I'll find something interesting one of these days.

I bet those wire-style wheel covers will look sharp on yours. What's the paint code on the door-jamb sticker?

Someone on Craigslist close by wants $30 for three of those original hubcaps, two of which are cracked.

I'll check out the sticker on the door tomorrow and let you know
