You could put an aftermarket radio down in there. And move the climate controls down. And do a double din?

How would you suppose you do that? I have an aftermarket deck that I want to use only thing is the cheapest adapter I found was $75 CAD after shipping, This would be something I would be interested in doing!

I would leave it open, or design a little something out of it. Sooner or later, im going to make it a little dock for my phone, If i get the PIE unit, that where ill have the AUX in.
If you have sirius or xm, DRL/fog switches, that is also a good place for it.

I have thought of adding many things to that spot. I prefered having my gauges there though.
Things you could mount or make the shifter opening into. 1) Mount a GPS unit 2) Light switches, HVAC controls, cruise control switches 3) An aftermarket radio / CD / tape deck / equalizer mount 4) A mount for a rear view camera screen 5) A DVD / video unit Just about anything you can think of can be molded into that opening with a little imagination.

Now what about the people who already have floor shifter...
we can't do anything cool with columns...! (well...we could...but that'd be just weird haha. HAND BRAKE! ;D) I'd have way too much fun if a hand brake was next to the wheel...I actually like the idea of tissues...or better yet, wet ones! They'll need lots by the time I'm done ;D tehehe... Now, me being a led neon dumb ass, You could get leds and junk all over and have the switches there. You could still have the radio/AC there too! Hell throw the AC there, and have a Screen in a built headunit! Last edited by QuinnSHO; 04-30-2012 at 01:59 PM. |
