actually the smell is mildew that forms in the evaporater. you should only smell that when you turn on your defrost or use your vents by your windshield (the ones on top your dash). That smell will go away after you use that for awhile. They do make a product for that but you have to spray it in the right hole.

I sure hope I dont experience anything like the link in the last post. I purchased a can of Lysol and sprayed my vents however I didnt get the defrost vents, I didnt pull back the portion by the windshield I dont have any tools to put anything back if i pull it apart, i'll have to ask the dealership the next time i'm in if i have a cabin filter, for now the Lysol has supressed the vent odor.

ISSUE
Musty and mildew type odors may come from the WARNING
air conditioning/heating system. These odors may
be caused by mildew-type fungi growth in the A/C READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS
evaporator. It is most noticeable when the A/C is PACKAGED WITH THE DISODORIZER.

ACTION
A new Disodorizer which encapsulates the mildew A/C ODOR TREATMENT PROCEDURE
is now available to help reduce these odors. A new
Moisture Purge Module (MPM) which operates the
blower motor when the vehicle is parked to dry out NOTE

Odors can be described in a number of ways:

• Perfuming Agents: sweet or fragrance smell
• Fishy
• Dirty Clothes, Shoes, Socks: musty, mildew, body
• Sweet odors
• Burning • Food/Beverage: sweet, musty, mildew, fishy smell
• Chemical
• Fuel The first step in diagnosing an odor concern is to
verify the concern. To verify an odor you must
• Oil determine when and under what circumstances the
• Exhaust odor occurs and what type of odor it is.
• Wet cement
Chemical odors are usually constant regardless of

humm im just wondering

a 94 and a 96 have about the same housing under the plastic near the windsheild

so i could maybe have a filter installed

ill have to find one at the scrap so i can have a difference view

or if anybody here have a pict from a 94 96 or 01 like gen 2 gen 3 gen 4

to see if any would fit

i think i would lave having a filter installed there reduce the dust in the damn car
