I plan on supercharging the engine but I know I would need to upgrade the tranny as it only supports 310hp.
would it be possible to support up to 700hp if I get the tranny rebuilt with high performance parts? and would it be possible to convert the car from FWD to AWD? |

Not going to happen. The EcoBoost version of your engine (designed and built for the stresses of forced induction) is only up to about 500 HP with extensive mods and tuning. You would be lucky to get more than 350 HP out of your engine without major problems.

I was told my NPG that the stock engine can handle 600hp as they said the duratec 35 is a very tough engine.
But the transmission is the problem. so high friction plates and a more powerful torque converter wouldnt help? |

I got a new job with NCR and a plan to take out a 9k loan which I will use for the car. I figure a tranny rebuild plus the supercharger kit will be about 12k

If you're going to SC the engine you're going to have to rebuild the tranny anyway. I'm just saying you're going to be disappointed if you are expecting 600-700 HP with the SC without completely rebuilding the engine. If you want to push it to 700 HP on the dyno just to claim you did it and the engine blows up 5 minutes later, that's a different story. I won't tell you how to waste your money.

It would take loads of money to do this. A simple super with little mods and a low amount of boost would give you maybe 350hp, more extensive modding may yield in the 400-500 range. I think the transmission would become a timebomb unless severly modified for that power.
700hp is a stretch. It's not impossible, just would take a lot to get to that number. Check out what it takes to get that horsepower in a muscle car, look into all the little and big mods they do to it. In the end that much power isn't even street legal. Not to be discouraging. But just do some simple light mods before going all out. There's too many projects that end abruptly because of lack of research and lack of funds. Hate to see another one. |

Wouldn't it be more cost effective for a complete engine and transmission swap...what ever high performance engine will fit in the bay with corresponding transmission? Than making your motor go BANG on the dyno? Assuming your putting in the wrench time.

I don't mean to come across as an a**, but why would you want to spend so much money modifying a Taurus? I mean, they're great cars and I love mine, but it is a Taurus, not a muscle car.
That questions being asked, if you are dead set on increasing HP, I would probably do what the others have said and just perform light mods to increase the HP to a realistic range.
