K&N Intake

I can't believe I just found this. I have been looking for this since I got my '12. I looked at K&N before and all I found was a drop in. They might have just added them for the '12.

I don't really care for aftermarket exhausts. (I had a Magnaflow on my 06 Fusion.) I like the quieter stock set up. But, I do love the sound of the intake sucking in the atmosphere! Their dyno shows 11+ HP and 15+FT LBS gains. That would make 275 HP and 264 FT LBS.

I recommend ordering a pre-filter to cover the filter. I got one for my Airaid and it has kept the filter amazingly clean. It doesn't allow any big pieces of dirt get to the filter and really looks good. The pre-filter is well worth the extra expense.

Well, I went ahead and made my order! $222.17 shipped from Parts Geek. I read through all the installation instructions. They were for 2010-2012 and the engine looked just like mine so, I'm cool. I put one of these on my Fusion a few years ago and I loved it! This one even has a scoop that sucks air in from under the hood. Should go in easy. Here is a pic of the installation on my 06 Fusion.

Going crazy waiting for this! It's somewhere between Cali and Wis right now. I think I have the installation instructions memorized. I checked to make sure I had all the tools today including the 15 Torx. I should be able to throw that puppy in easy before work Saturday (if not this time Friday night lol).

Another day closer! It looks like it might be one of those UPS to USPS deals. It went through our regional USPS location today. If that's the case, I might be able to install it before work tomorrow. Mail comes around eleven and I don't start until three. If I know for sure in the morning, I might get the stock intake out ahead of time. But, if the new one doesn't show up, I'd have to throw the stock unit back in for work. I guess if that's my biggest problem, I'm doing pretty good!

UPS Mail Innovations sucks. We sometimes use that shipping method in my line of work, and it takes forever with shoddy tracking updates. :/
