Find this info using your VIN: http://www.taurusclub.com/vin_check.html

Anyways, ever wondered what everyone is talking about when they talk about what "gen" (aka generation) their car is? Or what the Vulcan, Duratec, or Essex is? Or the difference between the AXOD, AX4S, and AX4N? Well, here's a guide with pictures and descriptions to help!

What generation do I have? The gens are divided up at the menu, but there are pictures that will help better understand the concept.

What engine do I have? Use the pictures and year to match your engine.

What transaxle do I have? There's not many pictures, but it is very descriptive. It's ordered by year so just match up the closest one.

And here's the main page of the encyclopedia. There are plenty of articles including reviews, specs, and year-by-year changes.

Update January 31, 2007:
Found this image on the net. Looked like a good diagram showing the difference between a pushrod engine and an OHC engine. Frankly, I've never liked the term OHV when referring to a pushrod engine because an OHC engine literally has overhead valves.

Done and done.

Also remember, at top there is a Search function, many questions and topics have been covered before, and may help you find what you are looking for.

Our Garage location lets you check out (and add!) member's cars and their modifications, plus price breakdowns and comments.

Don't forget the TCCA Gallery, where you can upload pictures from your harddrive or from the Net.

And last, be sure to swing into TCCA's Live Chat! Everyone is welcome - and we don't always have to chat about Taurii/Sables!

From the staff and members, we welcome to the !!!
