Thought that after 45 years in mostly GM vehicles .. .. I would try the very nice looking, one owner - 2004 Taurus SEL 24V DOHC ......
.
I knew that it needed a radiator hose/thermostat [ leaking at the "T" ] ..... what I found out as I was taking it apart is that the heater hoses in the rear were not leaking ....... but the quick disconnect fitting [ at the throttle body pipe ] was cracked and seems to have been leaking for some time now ....... I came on here to see if anyone knew of the part number and source for the fitting that Ford will only sell as part of the heater hose assembly or had one to sell [ note here it is held into the hose with a clamp .....and being a quick disconnect ...... it should be available seperately ] .......... also I am now experiencing a "knock" in the left front ...... which will wait until the cooling system is fixed ........ FYI bouncing the car does NOT reproduce the noise
.
After looking around here ...... I see many good techs and ideas ....... unfortunately I cannot get to post or respond to anything ....... so I am kinda stuck just posting here........sorry
.
I will say that before to total failure of the cooling system ..... the car was as close to my Cadillac as any std size Ford [ besides a Lincoln ] that I had driven [ it is an SEL with all options ]
.
My real name is Mike
[ My nickname is the Dusterman - I was told that I was told at the time that I was the first one to own the first Plum Crazy Duster sold to the public -so I was told at the time of purchase ]
