Along with that oil change do a trans fluid pan drop and filter change. Use Mercon V ATF only.

I have a question for you Breeves. When I bought the car there was a sticker under the hood that says the transmission and fuel system was serviced at 46k. At 63k now do you still think I should worry about trans fluid and filter change?

Nice wagon, sounds like you got a Taurus for the same reason we did. Our first was a 98 Wagon...that our son sent to an early death when he was involved in an accident. Luckily we had also picked up a 99 Sable LS Sedan before he did in the Taurus. But ours have saved us a bunch of miles on our Explorer and on the SHO. We really fell in love with these cars and are also keeping our eyes open for another wagon since I really miss the station wagon, and really like them.

Thanks for the compliments. I feel like I found a great car. You right about the rims, not a single scuff on any of them. With that being said I am kind of thinking of doing a balck powdercoat or black paint to get it more stealthy looking.

I'm tinting the widows today 35% which is the darkest allowed in Texas and I have started the debadging process as well. I think with some black rims this car would really have a stealth look to it.

Tint is awesome, I have the same. Might I suggest finding some Gen 4 SE/SES rims? The design goes perfectly with the bubbly shape of the Gen 3 body! Should be plentiful at a yard.

I just looked at a few pics online of those rims. I do think they would look pretty good. I may see if I can find four and then try to paint them myself with a black satin finish. Sounds like it might be a pretty good project for me.

My rims are 15x6 and some of the ones I was looking at are 16x6.5. Any suggestions on tire size if I went up to the 16?

Stock, 215/60 R16. You could go to 225 if you wanted to also.
