Where is the end of the new member line?

Hi all!

I bought a Taurus yesterday and registered today. I've already posted a question... in the proper section even.

So, the car...
94 Ford Taurus GL
20k miles (not a typo 20,000 miles)
Blue exterior/Blue interior

The car belonged to a 96 year old man as his second vehicle and has been sitting in the garage for the past 6-7 years. All of the records up to the current mileage have been recorded in the maintenance book even.
As you can imagine, the car is in amazing condition given it's age.

So far, the only problem I have found is a flaky power seat motor. Soon shall be fixed, with a little help from TCCA members possibly.

The car will be driven by my daughter as her first car and looked after by your's truly.

Wow, what a find! We could use your car as a reference because it probably hasn't had anything done to it yet! We want pictures of its pristine condition!

Because it's been sitting, I would check out the condition of the battery. You should also put in a fresh tank of gas. Once you run a tank or two of fresh gas, you might consider changing the fuel filter since there is probably a lot of junk in the tank. A bottle of Techron won't hurt either since you probably have some fuel varnish in places.

Also check the condition of the tires, serpentine belt, and vacuum lines for dry rot and cracking.

Yep, should be a good reference car as it is completely un-molested.

Before I purchased it, a mechanic went through it, changed all fluids, checked all belts and hoses, tires and replaced the battery.
Good point on the fuel system, I hadn't considered that. I'll swing by this afternoon and grab a fuel filter and likely grab a pump as well just to have on hand.

I'll get some pictures of it posted as soon as the weather clears up.
Really need to get this power seat thing figured out as well.

Things that will be upgraded/replaced.
Will likely install an aftermarket stereo with PAC adapter to maintain the dashboard controls. Will also likely install an alarm as this car is without keyless entry.
Other than that, I'll change the oil and add fuel. It should be a rock solid car for my daughter and I'm glad to have it in the family.

Haha sounds like this old guy did what my mom did to her 92 mustang, parked from 1994 to 2010 - 35k miles. We are only now getting new tires lol
